Abstract
This book is one of an ambitious project, the Penguin science of Behaviour, which covers a very wide range of psychological inquiry. Many of the short 'unit' texts are on central teaching topics, while others deal with present theoretical and empirical work which the Editor consider to be important new contributions to psychology.
