Abstract

In Portugal the most important problem related with violent death and alcohol is due to road accidents, and there is yet no legislation about alcohol consumption, except in the azores where the legal value fixed by law is 0,8 G/L. This value is considered too high for the road traffic in Portugal. Considering the large number of motor vehicles in circulation, the bad quality of the roads and the great number of fatal accidents. The most reasonable value should be zero.
