Abstract

The aim of the study was to examine the influence of some characteristics of the driver (age, perceptive factors), cognitive factors (anticipation) and characteristics of the stimuli (reflectance) on the visibility of objects (pedestrians, cyclists) under night driving conditions. Perceptual factors (static visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, visual acuity in a mesopic condition and glare sensitivity) of two age groups were tested.
