Vision at levels of night road illumination.

Abstract

A survey was made of 1963 articles relating to vision at levels of night road illumination. Vision was considered the major factor necessary for good driving, but other factors are of concern with triggering an accident. Some of the factors mentioned were ophtalmological problems, roadway lighting, headlight glare, sign illumination, car deceleration signal, illumination levels dark adaption, night vision tests, tinted windshields, sunglasses, color sensitivity, and drug effect on vision.
