Abstract

In recent years, VRML has become widely used as a language for three-dimensional computer graphics over the Internet. In this paper, a Visitor Guide/Virtual Walk-Through System for College Campus and Buildings using VRML, which system guides the user continuously from outdoors to indoor in a virtual space, is proposed. While walking-through, the user can also obtain various text and image information concerning the campus facilities. This paper shows the reason why it was decided to use VRML and gives several illustrative examples to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed system. Furthermore, the route guidance methods using the linear keyframed animation are proposed. (A*)
