Abstract

A survey was undertaken in 1974 to evaluate alternative methods of assessing public reaction to the impact of roads in the Lake District. Visitors and residents were asked to rate skill and cine photographs of typical scenes including roads built to different standards and with a range of traffic. A further survey will be conducted using composite cine films.
