Abstract

The visual task in night driving is discussed in relation to the present knowledge of basic visual performance. Some interindividual differences on the possibilities to detect deficiencies by routine screening methods are considered. The effects of various road lighting qualities on visual performance are discussed. Present development trends are questioned. Visual performance in two types of vehicle lighting has been studied and presented.
