Abstract

Data are presented on the visual search problems encountered by automobile drivers during two maneuvers: entering a highway after stop and changing lanes on a multilane highway. Head movement measurements were used to inter patterns and timing of search. The relationship between eye and head movements and some implications of the data are discussed.
