Abstract

The 8 papers describe the results of a series of experiments which show that (a) as the difference in target and non-target size decreased, search times increased for reulary and irregularly arranged displays; (b) search time was a function of the square root of the number of density of non-targets; and (c) the fastest search time obtained for a given target could be used as an estimate of response time.
