Visual sensitivity in the region of chromatic borders.

Abstract

Visual sensitivity to a small briefly presented test field was measured in retinal areas where there was an abrupt change in the background from one monochromatic light to another. The components of the background were matched in luminance. The results showed visual sensitivity is reduced in the region of the chromatic border.
