Abstract

The possibilities to "see on a map" what are important traffic problems, makes Transportation Patterns a useful tool for a planner or a politician. Since the consequences of decisions become better understandable to everyone on a map, more directpolicy becomes possible. The visualisation method is demonstrated for conflicts between pedestrian and bicycle networks and the flow of car traffic in 2 Dutch towns with 10.000 and 30.000 inhabitants.
