Abstract
A checklist is presented by which it can be measured if a pedestrian crossing facility is wanted. The list has the following parameters: 1) view for the pedestrian, 2) visibility of the pedestrian by the driver, 3) speed of motor vehicles, 4) road width, 5) walking speed of pedestrian, 6) braking deceleration of the motor vehicles, 7) presence of a refuge, 8) maximum accepted waiting time for the crossing pedestrian, and 9) complexity of the situation.
