Driving under bad conditions of visibility on account of fog, snow fall, etc. is creating potential sources of danger. Lighting in this context is not primarily serving the purpose of improving one's own sight but rather of making sure to be seen by drivers in oncoming cars. Special attention is given to fog lights fitted with halogen lamps. For rear marking of the car a red rear fog lamp seems to be best suited. Finally the report recommends a warning device in emergencies, i.e. a device permitting a simultaneous flashing of all vehicle flashing lights.
