Warning light study.

Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the effects of operating amber warning lights on driver behaviour. The amber light had little effect on traffic flow during the day. There was some slowing of the traffic at night. Experimental design, statistical methodology, and analysis of findings are described in detail.
