Abstract

Chapter II gives a brief survey of all relevant destructive measuring methods as far as construction sites are concerned. The report lays most stress on non destructive measuring methods which can be used in situ for determining moisture content, negative pore water pressure and the reasons for their presence. These methods are described in Chapters III and IV. In Chapter V, certain methods of special interest for laboratory work are added, the basis for this being discussed in the proceeding chapters. Chapter VI presents the conclusions and a critical summary evaluation of all the methods described.
