Abstract

The subject of the conference was the various ways in which the safety of cyclists could be improved. The following methods were discussed, (1) improvements in road engineering and design in order to increase facilities for cyclists on trunk roadsand to implement special cyclist schemes (2) cycle construction standards, (3) safety education for both cyclists and other road users, and (4) the role of traffic law enforcement.
