Abstract

A procedure is defined which transforms a previously orthogonally rotated factor matrix into anoblique solution without the use of a dual reference system or iterative methods. The procedure, called WECOS, weighted centroid oblique solution, is described. Results indicate that a wecos rotation, when used after a varimax orthogonal transformation, gives results similar to oblimax, oblimin, and subjective-graphical methods.
