Abstract

To decrease the speed and to increase the attention of drivers when approaching a pedestrian crossing, a test is done with so called "wegdekschotels" in the Oranjeboomstraat in Rotterdam. In how far these "wegdekschotels" effect relevant changes regarding traffic safety, is outlined. It is shown that "wegdekschotels" are not a means for decreasing speed and have no influence on the driving behaviour.
