Abstract

This paper describes different ways to reach sustainable urban mobility. These include: (1) financial measures; (2) technology and infrastructure; (3) physical planning; (4) the creation of an institutional/ organizational framework; (5) the application of a number of social tools such as publicity, communication, education; and (6) legislation and enforcement. It is very important to discuss at a local scale about which set of measures would be broadly based, in order to reach a sustainable urban mobility. By doing so, may actors involved in urban mobility have a say in the composition of the set of measures, and would therefore support this set of measures earlier.
