Abstract
The need of high quality, durable road surfaces is increasing. The properties skid resistance, evenness, rolling resistance, noise production and light reflection are relevant with regard to the road surface. The strong interaction between the mentioned properties and the formulation of requirements is a complicating factor. The goal of the working group `Road surfaces properties' is to optimize the road surface properties by means of perfomance requirements and boundary conditions which are set by the user, the road authority and the environment.
