Abstract

In a cross-sectional epidemiological survey the relationshipbetween road traffic noise and noise annoyance on one hand and psychological problems and blood pressure on the other hand was studied. No relationship was found between road traffic noise and psychological problems, nor between road traffic noise and blood pressure, nor between noise annoyance and blood pressure. A relationship was found between noise annoyance and psychological problems, but it remains unclear what causes what.
