Abstract
Electricity can, potentially, play a significant role as a source of power in the traffic and transport sector. In order to gain greater insight into this issue, Dutch electricity generating board (N.V. Samenwerkende Elektriciteitsproductiebedrijven) commissioned a systems study. The objective of the part carried out by TNO Inro "Traffic needs and systems", was to arrive at an estimate of transport needs (persons and goods) and to itemise transport systems. (A)
