Abstract

There are a variety of Activity-Based (AB) model designs applied in practice. Despite the variations in technical details between existing AB modelsystems, there are common features across all models representing core concepts of the AB modelling paradigm. There features include: a tour-based structure, an activity-based platform; and a microsimulation technique. This article discusses these features in detail, and then summarises the differences and similarities.
