Abstract
In Sweden, as in several other countries, the number of roundabouts is on the increase. According to a study carried out by the VTI, roundabouts with a maximum permissible speed of 50 km/h are typically safer for motorists than grade-separated intersections. Single-lane roundabouts can be just as safe for cyclists as other types of intersection, and for pedestrians they are perhaps safer than any other type. (Author/publisher)
