Abstract

We are really in no position to make any definitive statements about the so-called causes of automobile accidents. Our present state of knowledge does not let us isolate these causes; and consequently there is little evidence to support most of the simplistic's views that have been publicly expressed regarding the degree to which this or that factor is involved in vehicle accidents.
