Abstract

The efforts of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to amend the standards to provide better rear view vision have produced what many truck and mirror manufacturers believe are unrealistic demands on the design of some present-day heavy-duty trucks. The article gives an overview of all the problems in design and constructions of the new mirrors, following the new standards.
