Russel I. Brown, ITHS president, said the primary purpose of the overall study was to learn which highway accident prevention programs have been most effective in reducing the number and cost of traffic accidents in Wyoming. It also sought information about transportation expenditures in relation to the national average and to other states with similar characteristics. Mr. Brown added to that his organization co-sponsored the study in th belief that the methods utilized and information produced would be helpful to other states in determining the amount and effectiveness of highway safety and transportation expenditures. - the Editor.
