Abstract

The goal of the WHIST project is to achieve integrated traffic management for the entire Walloon motorway network, covering both traffic control and information. The administration and structure of the traffic centres involved in the project is described. It is part of a global strategy to improve mobility thanks to an adapted hierarchy of road functions, and to provide a higher quality of service to the user. The new regional TCC-TIC is intended to manage the whole set of data and information, as well as to control and manage the equipment and winter serviceability. It will be linked to other centres under emerging standards on data exchange. (A)
