Who reads the transportation planning literature?

Abstract

This study reviews the role of professional journals in transportation planning and evaluates the degree to which the literature is used. The paper concludes that if transportation professionals are not avid readers of the journals, they are at least avid scanners, continuously searching a number of other sources for relevant material.
