Abstract

The objective of the Wide Area Detection System (WADS) Project is to determine the technical feasibility of using state-of-the-art imaging (such as television) and processor (such as microprocessor) technology to build an integrated sensor for traffic surveillance on main line sections of urban freeways. This volume documents the results of the bread board software development and field testing efforts.
