Abstract

Wilks presented an equation to determine the size of a sample necessary to know with a specified probability that a desired proportion of any continuous population is encompassed by the extremes of the sample. A method for obtaining sample sizes from Wilk’s tolerance limit equation is presented and the accuracy of the procedure is discussed.
