Abstract

The TNO-Inro Research Institute investigated the feasibility of a monitoring instrument that measures the relationship between Information and Communications Technology (ICT), land use (spatial patterns) and transport (mobility). A conceptual framework was developed for the monitoring device. The structure of the monitor includes trends in society (economy, technology, culture and logistics), linked to supply and market share of ICT services (e-work, e-business and e-commerce) linked to impact on space and mobility (locational choices and travel behaviour). An action plan for implementation of the monitor is outlined. For the covering abstract see ITRD E124693.
