Abstract
This paper deals with preparatory study of spatial shopping behaviour of car drivers who go out shopping to the inner town of The Hague. A comparison is made with spatial shopping behaviour of bus and tram passengers. Both smaples appeared to differ widely on characteristics. Especially the four large department stores nearby are profiting: two thirds did buy something in one of them.
