Abstract
The traffic (un) safety during winter conditions on the Belgium roads are discussed. The coefficient of friction for various speeds are discussed. Accident statistics for the provinces under various weather conditions are presented. The skidding resistance of various road materials, de-icing materials and their polluting effects and the use of studded tyres are discussed.
