Abstract

The Work Zone Mobility and Safety Self Assessment tool (WZ SA) was developed by the Federal Highway Administration (FHA) to help states evaluate their work zone practices and to help assess work zone practices nationally. The WZ SA tool consists of forty six questions that are administered annually and are designed to assist those who manage work zones with the process of assessing their current practices and comparing these current practices with the acceptable standards of the industry. This report provides the results of the 2007 WZ SA, a comparison of those results with the results of the 2006 WZ SA, and a discussion of both its history and methodology. (Author/publisher)
