Abstract

The Global System for Telematics (GST) Open Systems sub-project focuses on specifying the basic components which enable the construction of an OpenTelematics framework. The results obtained by Open Systems allow Service Providers to create Service Applications and distribute these applicationsvia a standardized deployment and provisioning path to the end-user. The protocols and specifications developed by Open Systems reduce the necessary effort to create and publish telematics applications and thus greatly lower the production costs needed to bring appealing and innovative telematics products to the market. But how exactly does GST facilitate the development and publication of Telematics Services? This paper brings the resultsof the GST Open Systems Sub-Project down to earth and unveils the processof creating, testing and publishing GST compliant applications.
