Abstract

Years Ahead - road safety for seniors is one of RACV's most successful road safety programs. The overall objective of the program is to promote safe road user behaviours, encourage older drivers to take responsibility for the driving future and ensure they assess their own driving performance regularly. An independent evaluation of the program was undertaken in 1998. Results indicated that people who had attended a Years Ahead session had greater road safety knowledge and awareness even six months after the session compared to those who had not attended a Years Ahead session. This result was statistically significant. (Author/publisher) For the covering entry of this conference, please see ITRD abstract no. E208059.
