Abstract

The progress of a research study on school-age pedestrians has been reported. This research study has now been completed and this paper deals primarily with the findings regarding youngsters in the five to fourteen year old age group. Data are provided on the young pedestrian accident experience on a national level. Some quantitative evaluation of the behaviour attitudes and knowledge was desired to compare and to provide an explanation of the accident data. The methods of investigation and the results are described.
