Abstract

Crash rates for young beginning drivers are much higher than for older drivers. This videotape listens to 16 year-olds tell why they want their drivers' licenses and what driving means to them. Parents of beginners who died in crashes tell how the tragedies happended and how they've been affected. The video focuses on a promising policy measure - graduated licensing - to reduce 16 year-olds' crash deaths. It advises parents on minimizing crash risk for their children.
