Abstract
This small book is intended to alert ordinary road users to the consequences of car accidents. It explains from first principles the power of motor transport and the physics of driving including acceleration, aerodynamics, braking, the consequences of frontal impact collisions at different speeds, air bags and anti-lock braking systems (ABS), active and passive safety including impact test results. Safe driving recommendations are given.
