Abstract

The Principles for Temporary Traffic Signing on Roads were approved by the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic as technical regulation no. 66. This regulation issue, from the Decree of Federal Ministry of interior of the Czechoslovak Republic no. 99 On Traffic Rules on Roads from 1989 (Highway Code) and from appropriate technical standards and regulations. These "Principles" replace existing regulations concerning the temporary traffic signing in the Czech Republic. The regulation is divided into four parts. Part A gives general information about implementation of temporary traffic signing and marking, traffic equipment, and warning devices on work zones. This part furthermore determines the requirements for warning signs of operating vehicles and machines and also requirements for warning clothing. Other three parts of the regulation deal with the problems of work zones on roads in built-up area (part B), rural area (part C), and on motorways (part D). Each of these parts contains minimum model schemes of traffic guidance on work zones according to work zone duration with description of location of traffic signs, road marking and traffic equipment. This regulation does not contain all problems regarding the technical delivery conditions of traffic equipment and traffic warning devices. (A)
