Abstract
This is an editorial report on two lectures, followed a panel discussion, held at the annual meeting of the Section for Traffic theory of the Royal Institution of Engineers in the Netherlands. Prof. Smelik observed in his lecture "on ethical grounds public transport should be promoted at the sacrifice of private transport". Mr. Langemeijer's lecture is bases on the thesis; safety car suffer damage due to unforeseen forces of nature and to human behaviour.
