Abstract

Seeing is believing : an overview of some new developments underway to actual travel information in public transport. In this paper we present briefly the result of four recently finished studies in the area of actual travel information in public transport : Business model actual travel information in public transport: a first insight in the cost-benefit balance of the development and exploitation of systems for public transport in its relationship with the division of roles between parties involved in this process; Vision on the harmonisation of collective travel information in public transport: a guideline to achieve a logic and consistent structure of manifestations to the traveler in public transport; Forecasting techniques in actual travel information in public transport: a framework concerning content in which the different forecasting techniques are made transparent; IRIS for elderly and disabled people: an analysis of the necessary adjustments to the IRIS-concept (individual actual travel information) for elderly and disabled people.
