Abstract

The title of this paper, 'No success in parking policy without knowledge of process', is based on the increasing demand for knowledge about integration and process in parking policy. This demand originates from the need for a parking policy that is geared to and connected with the overall traffic and transport policy, spatial planning and economic policy. The VERDI knowledge platform noticed a shift from the need for knowledge on policy content to the need for knowledge on policy process. This need will be met with an update of a series of CROW reports with information on parking. This update is an initiative of VERDI and the Netherlands Transport Research Centre (AVV). This series will focus on integrated parking policy and link with the philosophy of mobility management as mentioned in the National Traffic and Transport Plan (NVVP). The paper describes the relation between mobility management and integrated parking policy, and describes the route that led to the update of the CROW information series.
