Abstract
After a discussion of the value of variables of cognitive complexity for the psychology of road traffic behaviour, three groups of drivers varying in type of accident proneness are isolated cluster analytically on the basis of road traffic statistics. These groups are then separated from each other by means of a multiple linear discriminant analysis on the basis of 28 variables describing road traffic behaviour. The results show that 97.7% of the persons are classified correctly.
