Abstract

In order to evaluate the degree of the injured patient at the scene of an accident a classification is suggested, which is characterised by the disturbance of the vital body functions. No disturbance of these functions means a slight injury: a compensated disturbance means a medium injury; and a decompensated disturbance means a severe injury. The clinical criteria of these disturbances are defined. The advantages of this classification are explained.
