Abstract

90 pedestrian accidents involving children up to 15 years of age were recorded and evaluated with respect to various points of view by an interdisciplinary team consisting of technical personnel, psychologists and medical doctors. The cars involved in head-on-collisions could be classified in V-contour, pontoon-contour and box-contour. Under equal collision velocities the triangular shaped vehicles produced less severe injury than the other groups.
