Abstract
The definition of the different operating levels of traffic flow is closely related to the question of evaluating the quality of traffic service. As an essential instrument for this investigation a microscopic simulation model for the usual type of expressway has been developed that proved to fit empirical data quite realistic. In the range of partly obstructed traffic all regarded indicators show a linear relationship with the traffic volume.
