Abstract

An analytical model of distribution systems with unscheduled collections and deliveries is presented. Examples of such systems include demand-responsive feeder transit, package delivery and special transportation services for the elderly and the handicapped. The model provides an effective, inexpensive means to analyze alternative system configurations and designs within a sketch planning proces.
