Dr Michelle Doumen investigates the fitness to drive of older road users with early dementia, behaviour in traffic, young drivers, and perception such as hazard perception. As a psychologist, she is involved in the in-depth studies into road traffic crashes, she is a member of the authors' team SWOV fact sheets, and advises on evaluating information campaigns on road safety.
Michelle obtained her PhD at the Utrecht University on her thesis visual perception Visual perception of spatial relations in depth.
